Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face Bournemouth In The Premier League

Manchester City failed to take more than a point from their previous game against Everton but will be happy given the way the game started. However, they are back in action this week and will need to put that draw behind them, when they travel to the Dean Court this weekend to face a Bournemouth side that has not picked up a single point yet this season.

Pep Guardiola will settle for nothing less than three points and will send out his strongest side on the pitch.

Team News

Manchester City will be without Kyle Walker, who picked up a red in the game against Everton. Midfielders Fabian Delph and Ilkay Gundogan are expected to miss this tie with injuries, along with newbie Benjamin Mendy, who is yet to be declared fit.

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Formation: 3-5-2

GK – Ederson

Showed some nerves in the previous game but should keep his place in the side, to add some solidity at the back for Manchester City.

CB – John Stones

The English defender had a decent night out against Everton and will hope to put in a similar performance, in a slightly less profile fixture.

CB – Vincent Kompany

Was immense against the likes of Wayne Rooney and will face a similar test this weekend where he is expected to face Jermain Defoe.

CB – Nicolas Otamendi

The Argentine star has cemented a place at the back under Guardiola and has been solid recently. He should complete the backline for his side.

RWB – Danilo

The Brazilian has been used as a left wing-back so far this season but with Walker’s red card suspension, he is expected to start in a more natural, right wing-back position this weekend.

CM – Fernandinho

With Gundogan still out injured, Guardiola has no other choice but to stick with Fernandinho as the deepest of the midfielders against the Cherries.

CM – David Silva

The Spaniard did not have a great game against Everton and will hope to find some form in this relatively easy fixture.

CM – Kevin de Bruyne

The Belgian playmaker was also unable to create enough chances last weekend but City will turn to him this weekend to break a resilient Bournemouth side, who will be happy to sit back and defend.

LWB – Leroy Sane

The lack of a genuine left-back in the side should see Guardiola ask Sane to play in this role and he should have a comfortable game against a misfiring Leicester.

SS – Gabriel Jesus

The Brazilian star did not last the full game last time around and the manager will hope that he puts in a better performance this weekend, playing as a supporting striker for Aguero.

ST – Sergio Aguero

Aguero was unlucky not to score in the previous game and will hope to have more joy in front of goal at the Dean Court.

This is how Manchester City could line up:
