Predicted West Ham United line-up to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League

West Ham bounced back from the disappointing defeat at the hands of Arsenal by progressing to the third round of the Carabao Cup by beating a 10-man AFC Wimbledon.

The Hammers next host Wolverhampton Wanderers, who held Premier League champions Manchester City 1-1 at home last weekend.

After the midweek victory in the Carabao Cup, Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping to see his side get off the mark in the Premier League on Saturday against Wolves.

Team News

Marko Arnautovic was forced out of the Arsenal game with an injury and subsequently missed the AFC Wimbledon clash on Tuesday. As things stand, he remains doubtful to face Wolves.

Michael Antonio was also forced out of the Arsenal clash but he made a substitute appearance in the 3-1 win over Wimbledon. Skipper Mark Noble is a slight doubt for the Wolves game with a back problem.

Meanwhile, Manuel Lanzini, Andy Carroll and Winston Reid remain sidelined with long-term injury problems.

Probable West Ham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Manuel Pellegrini

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

Lukasz Fabianski is one of the first names on the teamsheet. He is expected to start against Wolves on Saturday.

Ryan Fredericks (RB)

Fredericks hasn’t been at his swashbuckling best in the first three Premier League games. However, he would be desperate to turn things around on Saturday.

Issa Diop (CB)

After a baptism of fire against Arsenal, Diop did well in the midweek cup tie as he marked his performance with a goal. He could be in for a start against Wolves.

Fabian Balbuena (CB)

Balbuena was on the bench in the Carabao cup tie and should replace Ogbonna in the first XI for the weekend game.

Arthur Masuaku (LB)

Masuaku is a pacey and skilful left-back who loves to bomb forward at will. His crossing can cause problems to the Wolves defenders.

Declan Rice (CM)

The academy graduate will look to keep things simple in midfield when West Ham face Wolves at the London stadium.

Carlos Sanchez (CM)

Sanchez is a feisty midfielder who is known for aggressive tackles and challenges. The Colombian never shies away from giving everything he can and his presence in the middle of the park would be vital against the high-flying Wolves.

Andriy Yarmolenko (RW)

Yarmolenko is a dynamic winger whose directness and crossing abilities can cause a number of problems to the Wolves defence.

Jack Wilshere (CAM)

With two midfielders shielding the back, Wilshere could start in an advanced role. The No.10 role would allow Wilshere to influence the game and bring a cutting edge to West Ham’s attack.

Felipe Anderson (LW)

Anderson has settled in pretty quickly at West Ham and gave a glimpse of his quality against Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup. The Brazilian is a player who keeps the ability to change the course of the game.

Javier Hernandez (ST)

With Arnautovic a doubt, Hernandez could start as the lone striker. The Mexican’s form has considerably dipped over the last couple of years but his intelligent movement and predatory instincts make him such a clever player to have in the squad.
