Outstanding Duffy, Average Ulloa – The best and the worst rated Brighton players vs Burnley

Full Time: Burnley 0-0 Brighton

Brighton took another step closer to Premier League survival with a draw at Europa League-chasing Burnley. Although the Seagulls dropped to 14th, they are 5 points clear of the relegation zone with 3 games to go and can be fairly confident of playing Premier League football next season.

Burnley had two appeals for handball turned down in the first half by referee Roger East but both would have been harsh on the visitors.

Brighton Player Ratings

Matt Ryan – 7.5

Made several vital saves to deny Burnley and had a good game all-round for the visitors.

Bruno – 6.5

Was not able to convert an excellent opportunity in the 19th-minute to put Brighton in the lead and could have given away a penalty. Was replaced in the 90th minute by Schelotto.

Shane Duffy – 8

Man of the match for Brighton, Shane Duffy won the physical battle against both Chris Wood and Sam Vokes later in the game.

Shane Duffy

Lewis Dunk – 7

Played well alongside Shane Duffy at the heart of the Brighton defence. Can be proud of his defensive output.

Gaetan Bong – 7

Won his physical battles and looked to get forward as often as possible. Could have been better going forward.

Pascal Groß – 6.5

The German has been a virtual ever-present for Brighton this season and he ran himself into the ground this game.

Beram Kayal – 6

Not a great performance by the Israeli international who has been in and out of Chris Hughton’s side.

Dale Stephens – 6.5

Won some important tackles and tried to start some forward moves against Burnley.

Jose Izquierdo – 6.5

The 25-year-old has had better games for Brighton and wasn’t able to unleash his fierce shot in this game.

Leonardo Ulloa – 6

Led the line well for his side but never really got a sniff in front of goal. Replaced by Glenn Murray.

Anthony Knockaert – 6.5

Spent a lot of time on the ground and his delivery is impressive from set-pieces.
