Tottenham Hotspur haven’t made the most of this transfer window as they are yet to sign a single player so far. Mauricio Pochettino has another week or so before the window shuts and it could be a huge issue if Spurs fail to strengthen the squad. Pochettino is yet to win a trophy with the club and the manager must make a few signings to do so.
However, Lucas Moura has been linked with a move to Spanish outfit Real Betis. The La Liga side are interested in signing the Brazilian, who only made the move to Tottenham this January. Spurs paid £30million for the speedster who has failed to make an impact at the club. (Football Espana)
Moura was only able to muster a total of six Premier League appearances, of which four were off the bench. He registered just 1 assist. The former PSG man also made 4 appearances in the FA Cup, scoring 1 goal for the club.
The Brazilian hasn’t been his usual lively, energetic self since joining the club. Moura can play a wide number of roles up front, mostly occupying the attacking midfield role. The 25-year-old is also capable of playing on either flank. He is a versatile midfielder who possesses brilliant abilities on the ball. He often uses his devastating pace and impressive ball control to ease past defenders.
With Christian Eriksen playing at the peak of his career and Dele Alli slowly and progressively getting better, it’s hard to see Moura earning a starting role at the club. Pochettino also possesses the likes of Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min, both of whom can play on the flanks. Moura was largely used as a substitute since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 25-year-old looked blank and was unable to cope with the physical demands of the Premier League. More often than not, he was either shoved aside or taken down by defenders. Though the Brazilian is individually brilliant, his link-up play at Tottenham has been quite mediocre.
Pochettino must offer the Brazilian to Real Betis and aim to receive as much money as possible. Spurs need a game-changer in their team and so far, Moura does not seem like the right man for the job.

The former PSG star has been impressive in pre-season but that doesn’t tell us the whole story. Offloading the attacker would provide Tottenham with some much-needed funds to facilitate another move. Pochettino does not have much time left on his hand and he must act swiftly.
