Arsenal still seem a little lightweight in the attacking third, they have a goal scorer in the likes of Olivier Giroud, but he seems more likely to score the goals from inside the penalty box and well he is great at that but injuries have been a part of this season which has greatly reduced his and Arsenal’s output in the goals column.
They also have the likes of Danny Welbeck and a couple of youngsters out on loan but that does not give anyone confidence of what the club would do if Giroud goes missing for a large part of the season, that is a worry for every Arsenal fan. Fortunately it seems that Arsene Wenger wants to address those concerns and is preparing a deal to bring in Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain from Serie A. This one signing could be huge for the club from London and could make them title contenders next season.
The goals to glory
Gonzalo Higuain is known for his goal scoring ability but also the running he puts into the team he plays, he rarely does stay in one place and is always wanting the ball to do something. His style of play is completely different from what Giroud will offer the Gunners and the pair could actually hit it up and score a bag load of goals if it comes to that.
Higuain is only 27-uears-old and still has a few good seasons left in him, he is constantly in the goals and that could make Arsenal a perfect team in terms of attacking. They already have the creative inputs coming from Ozil, Cazorla and Sanchez while having a couple of strikers like Giroud and Higuain would put fear into any opposition defence. The one issue that would also be resolved with Higuain coming in is that if Giroud does get injured and cannot play a few games, Gonzalo is more than able to lead the line up front, something that was the reason why he left Real Madrid to play for Napoli.
That would be a problem for Arsenal as well; they would have to deal with two centre forwards who do not want to leave the central role. Either of them can lead the line, but Higuain does feel more robust and provides more running than Olivier Giroud does. Arsenal would certainly be in the running for a Championship charge if they can somehow snap up the Argentine and with Napoli uncertain of making it into the Champions League, Arsenal can not only guarantee him Champions League football but a team that could be going places in the coming seasons.
