Olexandr Zinchenko
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester City midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko is keen to make a move away from the club in January. The Ukrainian midfielder was linked with an exit during the summer as well but ultimately decided to stay put.
He has barely featured under Pep Guardiola so far this season and the youngster is now said to be in search of regular football elsewhere. According to the report, Napoli have shown a keen interest in acquiring his signature and the move sounds very feasible.
Zinchenko is a versatile player and can play in a wide variety of positions across the field. He is generally deployed as a central attacking midfielder but the youngster is also capable of playing on the flanks.
The Ukraine international is also versatile enough to play as a left-back. Given that Guardiola possesses a flurry of options in all of these areas, it’s hard to see the young midfielder get the chance to make a significant impact this season.
Zinchenko has made just two appearances for Manchester City this season and that was largely due to the injuries succumbed by Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph. Once the pair returned, Zinchenko has warmed the bench.
