Norwich landing this 23-year-old bright prospect would solve a key issue in the attack

Norwich City opinion: Should the Canaries sign Marko Jankovic?

While Daniel Farke and Norwich City do sit atop the Championship table, only four points separate them and second-placed Sheffield United. The Canaries are in great shape for the rest of the season and are among the favourites to get promoted and win the Championship.

However, despite that, their team needs reinforcements, with their team lacking depth in more than a few areas, as witnessed this season. The Canaries are in decent shape but that doesn’t mean that they could do without new additions.

Farke has only one bonafide attacking midfielder at his disposal in Marco Stiepermann. Hence, Norwich should target Marko Jankovic.

The 23-year-old is a bright prospect and has been since his breakout season when the Montenegro star finished the 2016/17 season producing 10 goals. This earned him a move to the Serie A but he has struggled since arriving in Italy.

A very tricky winger, Jankovic is exactly what Norwich City need next season, especially given their lack of wide players. The Canaries have Emiliano Buendia, Onel Hernandez and Todd Cantwell at their disposal.

But barring Buendia, neither Hernandez nor Cantwell has impressed. Adding someone like Jankovic will help the club move forward.

The 23-year-old is a strong dribbler of the ball and is very creative in the final third, which is something that Norwich City need. However, what should make a difference to Farke is the fact that the Montenegro star is a workaholic.

Not only does Jankovic use his pace and agility well but his work ethic should appeal to Daniel Farke. Like most modern managers, the Norwich boss likes his front-men to do their part defensively and press high up the field.

This allows the club to win the ball back faster and that’s exactly why Marko Jankovic will make an impact. Though he has struggled to find the net in recent times, the 23 year old has more than made up for it with his assists.

This season, he has 8 assists to his name but has scored only 2 goals, which shows exactly how much he has struggled. Yet, despite that, Jankovic remains a quality star, with the potential to do great things for any club that he joins.

Conclusion

While Emiliano Buendia has been impeccably brilliant this season, the Argentine needs back-up and though Onel Hernandez has tried to do that, the Cuban has struggled.

Adding someone as talented as Marko Jankovic will help Norwich City move forward and it’s a move that the 23 year old is more than ready to make.
