According to the Sun, Manchester United are interested in making a swoop for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. The Englishman has been in superb form and has made a meteoric rise since his days with Sunderland.
The Red Devils shot-stopper David De Gea is yet to pen a new deal that has been on the table for a while now. According to Daily Star, Juventus are currently interested in taking the Spanish goalkeeper and should the move happen, Pickford would be the most ideal replacement.
The former Sunderland star has been a player on the rise and is currently the first-choice goalkeeper in the England senior team as well. He was in supreme form for the Three Lions at the World Cup and played a crucial role in helping them to a fourth-place finish.
The Sun suggests that the Everton shot-stopper is rated at £60million but that shouldn’t pose a problem for a financially capable team like Manchester United. Though he just signed a new deal with the Toffees in the summer, playing at Old Trafford will not be easy to resist.
Pickford is a superb shot-stopper who possesses cat-like reflexes and fantastic positioning between the sticks. The 24-year-old has made 36 saves in 12 appearances this season and has continually bailed out Marco Silva’s side in desperate situations. The former Sunderland goalkeeper has kept a total of 3 clean sheets as well. He is also one of the best stoppers when it comes to spot kicks. During his time in the Premier League, Pickford has built a reputation for keeping out penalties. He has already saved two penalties for Everton this season. Pickford also saved 1 penalty last season. (Stats courtesy – Premier League)
The goalkeeper is also impressive when coming out of the line in one on one situations. Whenever he commits, the England star tends to get it right. He is more than capable of playing a sweeper-keeper role.
The former Sunderland goalkeeper is also very comfortable playing the ball out with his feet. He has rarely had issues playing it out from the back when under pressure from opposition strikers.

Manchester United should definitely make the move for Jordan Pickford. Right now, he looks like the ideal option to replace De Gea in goal should the Spaniard decide to make the move.
The Red Devils will have a massive job on their hands but that would be solved if they can lure the Everton goalkeeper.
