Although they have played just 14 games in the Premier League so far, Chelsea already look like they have the swagger of a side which knows that they are the best in the country. The talk about going a season unbeaten is still a far cry, but from the basis of the performances so far it does not look impossible as well. However Chelsea would do well to be wary of Newcastle United who won five on the bounce before picking up just the solitary point in the last two matches. At St James Park, it will be anything but easy and Jose Mourinho would want to break his duck against the Magpies away from home.
Newcastle United welcome back the duo of Moussa Sissoko and Jack Colback from suspension. However the Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul will be out for atleast six weeks with an injury to his ankle. The trio of Davide Santon, Siem De Jong and Sami Amoebi are also ruled out with injury.
Chelsea will miss out on Nemanja Matic who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in the last match against Spurs. Gary Cahill is possibly a slight doubt but as there is no concussion, he should start against Newcastle United. Diego Costa is available once again after serving out his sentence for picking up five yellow cards in the match against Spurs.
Eden Hazard Vs Daryl Janmaat:
This will be the key battle of the match for us. Eden Hazard is in tremendous form right now and the man facing him on Saturday trying to stop his exploits will be Newcastle right back Daryl Janmaat. The Dutch International is in a very good form right now but he will have to be on another level tomorrow if he is to stop the Belgian winger. We expect Janmaat will not go upfront much to make sure that Hazard does not do much damage and this will mean that Newcastle united’s attack will also be compromised as he is a powerful force down the right. A lot will depend on this particular duel.
Stats compiled from BBC.
Newcastle United: Elliot; Janmaat, Taylor, Dummett, Haidara; Colback, Tiote; Gouffran, Sissoko, Perez; Cisse
Chelsea: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Mikel, Fabregas; Hazard, Oscar, Willian; Costa
