Predicted Rangers Line-up To Face Celtic In The Scottish Cup Semi-final

Rangers will look to progress to the finals of the Scottish Cup at the expense of their biggest rivals Celtic when the two sides meet in the semi-finals at the Hampden Park on Sunday.

The Gers haven’t been able to beat Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, having lost twice and drawn once. Manager Graeme Murty will be keen on changing that in the upcoming weekend by masterminding a win over the Hoops and in the process, taking the Gers a step closer to a trophy.

They beat Dundee FC 4-0 in their last game but that remains their only victory in the last four matches across competitions.

Probable Rangers XI

Manager: Graeme Murty

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Wes Foderingham (GK)

The 27-year-old English shot-stopper has made 36 appearances in all competitions this term, managing 11 clean sheets. A sure starter.

James Tavernier (RB)

The full-back showed signs of coming back to form in the weekend win over Dundee after a recent rough patch. Will be hoping to build on that display.

Ross McCrorie (CB)

The young centre-half made his first start of 2018 in the Gers’ previous game, having been out with an injury. Looked solid and comfortable. He should be retained in the starting line-up.

Russell Martin (CB)

The 32-year-old Scotland international has established himself as one of Murty’s first choice players at the back since coming in on loan from Norwich City in the winter window.

Declan John

Declan John (LB)

The Welsh international has been a major influence down the left flank for the Gers, with his attacking intent and dangerous forward forays.

Greg Docherty (CM)

After a brilliant start to life at Ibrox following his January move, the 21-year-old has waned off in recent weeks. Has the quality to make a difference but needs to be persisted with.

Graham Dorrans (CM)

The 30-year-old summer signing has started the last two games for the Gers after a lengthy injury spell on the sidelines. Has looked solid and will be key against the Hoops.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

The Portuguese winger was one of the goalscorers in the win over Dundee this past week and will want to carry the confidence into the derby.

Kenny Miller (CAM)

The 38-year-old made his first start since December and bagged a goal for himself at the weekend. His experience will come in handy for Rangers against their arch-rivals.

Jamie Murphy (LW)

The 28-year-old winger has grown into a vital part of the Gers side since coming in during the winter window. Has contributed 5 goals and 7 assists in 13 games in all competitions.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

The Light Blues’ top scorer for the season with 18 strikes to his name, Colombian marksman Alfredo Morelos will need to play a pivotal role if his side are to beat the Hoops.
