Predicted West Brom line-up to face Preston in the Championship

West Brom were soundly beaten 3-0 by a Crystal Palace side who dominated the possession. Darren Moore’s men were helpless at home despite showing impressive form in the league.

The Baggies now return to take on Preston in the Championship this weekend. Moore’s men travel to the Deepdale Stadium and the manager will be aiming to make amends for his shortcomings in the League Cup. Preston are currently enduring one of the worst seasons, with the club occupying the final spot on the table.

Team News

Darren Moore will once again will be glad that none of his players was injured in midweek. The manager has no other injury concerns to worry about either. Some changes are expected to be made in order to keep the squad fresh.

Probable West Brom XI

Manager: Darren Moore

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Sam Johnstone (GK)

Johnstone should return to the fold after a mediocre midweek performance from Boaz Myhill. The youngster has been impressive for the Baggies.

Ahmed Hegazi

Craig Dawson (RCB)

Dawson was rested for the game against the Eagles and should return for this one. He has shown signs of quality this season but needs to show consistency in his displays.

Ahmed Hegazi (CB)

There’s no telling where the Baggies would be without Hegazi at the back. The Egyptian is absolutely vital to this squad.

Kyle Bartley (LCB)

The 27-year-old has looked good in the 3-man backline under Darren Moore. He should start this game.

Matt Phillips (RM)

The Scotland international is one of the Baggies’ biggest threats going forward. His absence was felt against the Eagles.

Chris Brunt

Jake Livermore (RCM)

Livermore’s defensive prowess and ability to hold onto the ball in tight situations makes him so vital in the middle of the park.

Chris Brunt (LCM)

Brunt has not yet picked up a single goal or assist this season and needs to show more urgency in his game. However, the 33-year-old is a good source of supply.

Kieran Gibbs (LM)

Gibbs continued his fine form this season with another goal against Millwall last weekend. He should start in his favoured position.

Harvey Barnes (CAM)

The youngster has made a name for himself under Moore this season. He will sit behind the two strikers and try to pick the passes.

Jay Rodriguez

Dwight Gayle (ST)

Gayle repaid his faith with a goal against Millwall and will lead the line against Preston as well. He is definitely going to be a huge asset this season.
