Mata And Martial To Start – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line Up To Face Chelsea

Share

Following an awesome performance against Fenerbahce in the UEFA Europa League, Mourinho’s men will look to repeat that great display when they visit Stamford Bridge for the ninth game of the season.

The Red Devils currently own the seventh spot in this year’s Premier League table, but the gap between them and their neighbors and rivals; Guardiola’s Manchester City is only a 5 point difference, so there’s still plenty of chances to make a run for the title. Today, will take a look at what we think the Manchester United lineup should look like this Sunday.

GK: David De Gea

There wasn’t too much to think about here, as the Spaniard is making a case to be considered the best goalkeeper in the world after some outstanding performances this season despite owning just three clean sheets in eight games.

LB: Daley Blind

The Dutch has proved himself to Mourinho and his versatility has made him one of his favourite choices. Besides, the manager doesn’t seem very happy with Luke Shaw so far, so we think Blind is going to get the starting spot at least one more time.

CB: Eric Bailly

Bailly has probably been the most effective and consistent signing for the red devils this season, as there’s no doubt that this young guy is going to be starting at this position during most of the season if he’s healthy.

CB: Chris Smalling

Another steady and reliable guy in the bottom half of the pitch. Smalling has made 7 starts for Mourinho this season, and there’s no reason to think this Sunday won’t be the eighth appearance of the British.

RB: Antonio Valencia

A veteran and tireless Valencia has really had some outstanding performances at right back this season. Last Monday at Anfield he was all over the place and helped his side secure a 0 – 0 tie with Liverpool and father time doesn’t seem to be calling his door any time soon.

CM: Ander Herrera

The Spaniard is actually having a great season playing alongside Paul Pogba and even if everybody thought he was going to be one of the first guys on his way out, he’s becoming one of Mourinho’s trusted lads.

CM: Paul Pogba

A total no brainer. Pogba’s coming off his best performance since returning to Old Trafford and even if he was struggling, you just can’t bench a guy with that much talent. Ever.

AMR: Marcus Rashford

The British starlet is having a great season and even if he’s not playing in his favourite position, his speed and dribbling skills make him a must start for the Red Devils. The young forward has had more impact on the field that Zlatan Ibrahimovic so far.

AML: Anthony Martial

Martial came back to the starting lineup against Fenerbahce and even if he had a lot of minutes on his shoulders, he should be in for another starting gig this Sunday after a great performance against the Turkish.

AMC: Juan Mata

Mata had another great display this past Thursday and he has made a case for himself to continue getting playing chances for his side. Besides, Mourinho axed Mkhitaryan once again and that doesn’t seem like a situation that’s going to change anytime soon.

CF: Zlatan Ibrahimovic

After a great start of the season, Ibrahimovic has completely disappeared from the past few games. However, you never want to send this narcissistic striker to the bench, as he’s capable of scoring in bunches.
