Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs. Barcelona

Manchester United continue their preseason with a mouth-watering clash in the US against, of all teams, Barcelona. Sure this might just be a preseason but having the chance to see so many top players go against each other is a football lover’s fantasy.

Bastian Schweinsteiger

Louis van Gaal has restructured his Manchester United team with a plethora of signings, so much for the days when United would bring players in from their youth team. A new philosophy has booted out the old guard and well this is an exciting time for Manchester United fans. Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger are a testament to that and with news of more players coming in; this transfer window could only get better for the team. With the Premier League just a few weeks away, we predict Manchester United’s team for this preseason friendly.

Anders Lindegaard

With the future of Valdes and De Gea not concrete, it should be the veteran Lindegaard keeping in between the sticks for United.

Matteo Darmian

The new signing should get a bit of a run-out against one of the toughest teams out there. This could be the perfect test for Darmian.

Phil Jones

The best central defender or the best defender that United have at the moment, Jones should start the game against a difficult opponent.

Marcos Rojo

Rojo took a little time to adapt to the league last year but once set, he was one of the better players in a rather shaky defence. He should start the game against Barcelona, just to see what he can do.

Luke Shaw

The left-back needs to show what he is capable of doing, he might have had a huge price tag but he hasn’t justified it and that will be a sore point for a few fans.

Morgan Schneiderlin

It’s time for the Frenchman to show what he is capable of doing, he wanted to move to a Champions League side, well he has got it now, time for him to shine.

Ander Herrera

You might have to wait to see both Bastian and Morgan in the same midfield, this is still a preseason friendly and we think that Van Gaal will tinker with the side just to keep players like Herrera on their toes.

Juan Mata

One of the stars from last season for Manchester United, Mata should be looking to continue his great run of form and make his position in the team permanent.

Memphis Depay

The young hotshot who just signed for the club, Depay is an enigma and everyone needs to keep an eye out for him this season. Will he another Di Maria or soar like an Aguero?

Ashley Young

A revelation last season, Young was back to his best and could continue keeping out the likes of Januzaj and Di Maria from the team.

Wayne Rooney

Leader, captain and legend, Wayne Rooney will be United’s striker this season and he needs to have a stellar season if he wants to win the Premier League title for the team.
