Manchester United vs Arsenal Combined 4-2-3-1 Line Up Featuring 4 Red Devils And 7 Gunners

Share

The most important match of the week will be played at Old Trafford, where Jose Mourinho will try to extend his dominance over Arsene Wenger and get some much-needed momentum for his Manchester United side, while the visitors will try to avoid falling down from the top four and continue their unbeaten streak.

Today, we’ll take a look at the best eleven players that’ll be on the pitch during this interesting duel, creating our own combined starting XI between the Gunners and the Red Devils.

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

This one as hard as anything to pick, but we picks out the Spaniard, who is arguably the best goalkeeper in the league right now (sorry, Courtois) and even if Petr Cech is always a great choice, De Gea’s current form earn him a starting spot every time he gets the chance.

Right Back: Antonio Valencia

The veteran Ecuadorian missed a few games for United and his absence was clearly missed by the ‘soft’ Manchester United defence who are already without Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling. We could have mentioned Hector Bellerin and this could have been a pure defensive Arsenal line-up, but with the Spaniard missing the game and Antonio Valencia reportedly ready to make his return, he marks his name into the list.

Centre Back: Shkodran Mustafi

The German has been completely outstanding since his arrival to North London, and his current performances earned him a spot among the eleven best players in this game.

Centre Back: Laurent Koscielny

The Frenchman is one of the most consistent veterans in the Premier League, and even if he is aging, he has shown his potential over and over. His presence has made a big impact for Wenger’s team and he’s one of the main responsible for this amazing run they are having.

Left- Back: Nacho Monreal

Monreal is set for another start after some decent performances, and even if he’s not the most talented player in the team, he’s more than capable of contributing in defense.

Defensive Midfielder: Granit Xhaka

The newcomer has shown that he was yet another outstanding purchase by Arsene Wenger, providing a lot of help in the offensive side of the pitch for the Gunners. Ander Herrera was a worthy candidate for the spot, but the Swiss edges out the Spaniard with a whisker.

Central Midfielder: Paul Pogba

We all know what Pogba’s capable of, and he showed it once again this past week with his national team. You never know which Pogba’s going to show off for United, but given how talented he is, he should always start no matter what.

Left-Wing: Marcus Rashford

The youngster has made a name for himself with some great performances, and he’ll be getting the starting striker spot away from Zlatan Ibrahimovic sooner than later if the Swedish star doesn’t get his act together soon enough. Alex Iwobi has been highly inconsistent this season so Rashford was an easy pick.

Central Attacking Midfielder: Mesut Ozil

The German star has been arguably the best player for the Gunners this season, scoring goals at will and recording a lot of assists, being one of the main responsible of Arsenal’s outstanding form.

Right-Wing: Theo Walcott

Walcott earned a spot because he finally seems fully recovered and his offensive game this term has been off the charts. He’s back and you better be scared.

Centre-Forward: Alexis Sanchez

After an injury scare, the Chilean star scored a pair of goals against Uruguay to keep his momentum going, and given how talented he is, you know he’s gotta be here.
