Manchester United To Score From Open Play, Arsenal And Everton To Extend Their Unbeaten Runs – EPL Forecast

Share

The Premier League is one of the most excited leagues in the world and is believed to be one of the competitive club football competitions across the globe. In the current campaign, we have several clubs challenging for the most prestigious title in the top flight English football.

Soccer Souls will take a look at three things to look forward in the Premier League this week.

Manchester United scoring from open play

United have had a worst start to their campaign, with just seven points after six games since David Moyes replaced Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford. The Red Devils sit 12th in the league table and are yet to score from an open play in their last five league fixtures.

United scored four goals in their first fixture against Swansea and since then, the Premier League champions have scored only from set pieces. Moyes takes his men to the Stadium of Light as his side take on Sunderland on Saturday.

Here is a picture explaining Manchester United’s goals since the start of the season (in the league).

Sunderland sit at the bottom of the table with just one point from their six games played this season. The Black Cats have shown the exit door to their manager Paolo Di Canio and are yet to find a replacement for the Italian. Moyes would be hoping to take advantage of the situation and bounce back against the side, which is struggling at the moment.

Everton hoping to extend their unbeaten run

Everton are currently the only team to remain unbeaten in the league this season. The Toffess, under the guidance of their new manager Roberto Martinez have won three while sharing a point with their opponents in the reaming three fixtures.

The Merseyside club take on Manchester City in a highly anticipated clash this weekend. The Citizens come into this game with two back to back defeats in all competitions. So, they would be desperate to get maximum points to stay in the title race. On the other hand, the former Wigan manager would be hoping to keep Everton’s unbeaten run intact.

Arsenal’s unbeaten Run away from Home

Arsenal are on a brilliant run away from home in this calendar year, having won 12 on a trot, setting a new club record. The Gunners face West Bromwich Albion, who in the previous fixture registered a famous 2-1 win against United at Old Trafford.

Apart from their brilliant away from home, Arsene Wenger has seen his side bounced back from their 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at the Emirates and are on a 10 match unbeaten run.  The Frenchman is wary of the threat possessed by Steve Clarke’s men, especially having defeated in their own backyard.

Wenger would be looking to extend Arsenal’s record away form while Clarke would be hoping his side put an end to the Gunners’ recent form.
