According to English news outlet Daily Star, Manchester United have taken an interest in VfB Stuttgart star Ozan Kabak. The Red Devils are looking to rebuild their squad yet again and have taken a rather interesting approach to it.
They have signed Daniel James but it seems that moves for Aaron Wan-Bissaka have stalled with Crystal Palace asking around £60million for the right-back. That is a bit of a stretch for a 21-year-old who doesn’t even have 50 Premier League appearances to his name.
Things need to change for Manchester United. They need to make sure that they’re spending the right money on the right players.
Given their recent history, that might be easier said than done, but at the same time, it’s something that maybe manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can achieve.
It’s exactly where someone like Ozan Kabak comes into play. The young centre-back has been recently crowned the Rookie of the Year in the Bundesliga despite him only arriving in January.
Things need to change and adding Ozan Kabak is the way forward. He finished the season winning 64% of his aerial duels, 60% of the challenges and an impressive passing accuracy of 84%. It all points to the fact that Stuttgart has unearthed another gem.
Kabak missed just two games since arriving in January, netting three goals in the process. That shows the potential that Kabak and the things that the Turkish star can achieve under the right place.
What does make the move even more probable is the fact that Stuttgart have been relegated from the Bundesliga. Not just that, the report from the Daily Star has further added that Manchester United have already sent official’s to meet Kabak’s representatives.
However, with AC Milan and Bayern Munich also in the race, Manchester United are playing catch up. Their defence was horrendous last season, which saw the club concede the most goals amongst the top-six sides.
For a club chasing after a top-four spot, let alone a Premier League title, things like that cannot be happening and it’s something that Solskjaer really needs to change.

Ozan Kabak may have just half a season of proper football at a top European side in a top European league but he won’t cost more than £13.4m.
Compared to what the asking price is for a few other players in and around his age, it makes the Turkish star a bargain and one that Manchester United have to win the race for.
