According to reports in Germany, Manchester United have now made an official £60m bid to sign Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller. The World Cup winner was being monitored by manager Louis van Gaal right through the summer, though the Red Devils were trying their best to sign Barcelona’s Pedro as their first choice.
However, German newspaper Bild had reported that the Premier League giants would be making a staggering £60m offer for the 25 year old forward, which has happened now that Chelsea are closing in on signing the Spanish international.
Further, United’s league rivals Arsenal had also enquired about Muller’s availability when the summer transfer window opened, but were informed that he was not for sale.
Despite that, the Manchester based side has gone ahead and made their intention of signing him clear, though he is under contract at the Allianz Arena till 2019.
Van Gaal has had some problems in the past season with his front-men failing to perform and with Wayne Rooney’s poor form at the moment, Muller could surely be the player that he needs for his side.
