Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson met with the press reporters for his regular pre-match conference today morning and briefed about the team’s current situation on the injury front and his thoughts on Sunday’s match against Everton. Ferguson, who asked his players to remain focused on their job yesterday has pointed out the importance of Everton’s fixture as the merseyside club was one the reason United lost the title to their rivals Manchester City last season.

Talking about the game, he Said:

“Everton will be “tough” as they’ve only lost three times in the league all season and, of course, the 4-4 draw last term lost us the title, according to the manager. He feels the Toffees have a “genuine chance” of finishing in the top four.”

“we’re playing well, I’m pleased with our form. I’m changing the team around and everyone who has played has done well, which creates competition.”, concluded the manager.

Ferguson also briefed about the situation of his injured players and he had some good news for the United fans. Ashley Young who was sidelined with knee injury after theie game against Liverpool will be available for the Everton game and the injury to youngster Phil Jones is not bad as it was first thought to be.

“All the players are back fit from the internationals although we are still waiting on Chicharito to return. Ashley Young is back and Phil Jones’ illness is not as bad as was suggested by England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce.”

And finally talking about Phil Jone’s situation, Sir Alex Ferguson hits out at England U-21 boss Stuart Pearce. After Phil Jones pulled out from England’s U-21 match against Sweden, Pearce claimed the youngster had been affected with shingles. However, there seems to be no such problems with Jones and he is available for Sunday’s game as Ferguson was not happy with Pearce.

“What about doctor confidentiality?” said Ferguson.

“We are disappointed with that.”
