Manchester United Fans Look Away: Highly Rated Summer Target Set to Join Manchester City

Manchester City are all set to hijack and sign the Manchester United target and Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi. According to reports in Sky Sports, Otamendi will have a medical with Manchester City after a deal was agreed for his transfer.

The deal between the two clubs has been finalised for £31.7m and the Argentine defender is already in the city of Manchester to undergo a medical exam later today.

Sky Sports’ Spanish expert Guillem Balague had earlier said that a deal has been agreed between both the parties for €40m and a loan deal for French defender Mangala but the Manchester City central defender refused to leave the club.

There was a leak from Spain on Friday that a deal had been agreed at €40m and a loan deal for Mangala, Sky Sports’ Spanish expert Guillem Balague said.

But by the time City had beaten Chelsea on Sunday, Valencia learned that Mangala did want to go to Valencia, or go out on loan, so that meant they had to find another figure and reach another agreement. Valencia said that Otamendi has a €50m buy-out clause, but they managed to find common ground at €45m and there are no loan arrangements attached and it has no relation, either, to any money owed for Alvaro Negredo, Balague added.
