Manchester United and Chelsea Stars Included in the Likely Belgium Lineup to Face Andorra

Marc Wilmots’ Belgium will take on Andorra with the hope of securing the team’s place at next year’s Euros in France. Belgium has failed to qualify for the past three editions of the Euros and have only participated in the tournament four times in their history. Belgium have to do without the injured Thibaut Courtois, Thomas Vermaelen, Moussa Dembele, Christian Benteke and skipper Vincent Kompany while Adnan Januzaj and Michy Batshuayi were dropped after Belgium’s two victories last month over Bosnia at home and Cyprus away.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet

In the absence of first-choice goalkeeper Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois, Liverpool custodian Simon Mignolet will don the gloves for the Belgium National team.

Defenders: Toby Alderweireld, Dedryck Boyata, Luis Cavanda, Jan Vertonghen

Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany will miss Belgium’s Euro Qualifier in Andorra and it will be a big disappointment for the visitors. Kompany is yet to recover from the injury, because of which he missed five matches for Manchester City. This leaves Wilmots to play Dedryck Boyata and Luis Cavanda as the central defenders while Tottenham Hotspur duo of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will play as the full-backs.

Midfielders: Nacer Chadli, Alex Witsel, Marouane Fellaini, Kevin de Bryune, Eden Hazard

In the 4-2-3-1 combination for Belgium, Tottenham Hotspur’s Nacer Chadli and Zenit st. Peterzburg’s Alex Witsel will play as the two holding midfielders while Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini will play in between Manchester City’s latest signing Kevin de Bruyne and Chelsea’s out-of-form winger Eden Hazard.

Striker: Romelu Lukaku

Wilmots might be tempted to give Liverpool youngster Divock Origi a chance in the absence of Christian Benteke. But it is unlikely that Origi will start ahead of Romelu Lukaku given the fact that Belgium will be eyeing the qualification at the first place.
