Manchester United have struggled this season and if one thing was clear at the end of their season, it’s that they need reinforcements. More than anything in the world, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to make sure that the team is freshened up and updated in time for the new Premier League season.
They struggled to do much for most of the season and barring Solskjaer’s honeymoon period, the Red Devils never looked like they were ever in the race for top-four, let alone a title race, which is exactly why they brought in Jose Mourinho and let him spend so much.
However, while Pep Guardiola and even Jurgen Klopp added the right players, the Portuguese star didn’t. It’s one of the many reasons why they struggled with scoring goals and keeping clean sheets.
Pogba finished as their top scorer with 13 goals in the Premier League, with Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford finishing in second and third. 23-year-old Anthony Martial did contribute with 10 but most of that came under Mourinho.
Things need to change and with Lukaku heavily linked with a move to Italy, it does pose a small problem for the club. The Belgian is a consistent goalscorer and that has seen Inter interested in a move. However, while replacing him will be tough for Manchester United, one man who can do just that is Antoine Griezmann.
ESPN has reported that the Red Devils have re-entered the race for the Frenchman. The 28-year-old has finally announced that he will be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, which has seen him linked to Barcelona over the last few weeks.
If Manchester United do end up losing Romelu Lukaku then someone like Antoine Griezmann fits the bill perfectly. Versatile, hard-working and an incredible goalscorer, the Frenchman can do it all. Despite being a striker, he averages 1 tackle per game and finished the season with 21 goals and 11 assists in all competitions.
It’s a phenomenal average for any player in the world and Griezmann has done it consistently, ever since he made the move over from Real Sociedad. That and all his other attributes make him perfect for both the Premier League and Manchester United.

Antoine Griezmann is a world-class star and if anything else. Paul Pogba’s future is uncertain at the moment and adding a fellow Frenchman could just be the way to keep him at the club.
