Manchester United made some big moves in the summer by landing Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The pair have looked good for United and the defensive problems that plagued the team seem to be going away.
There still are some problems for Manchester United in the attacking third, and Sport1 (h/t Sun) claims that the Red Devils are interested in Kai Havertz.
The German international bagged 20 goals for Bayer Leverkusen last season, and the report adds that the Bundesliga club want at least £91million for their academy product.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in the 20-year-old while Real Madrid and Barcelona are also keen on Havertz (h/t Sun).
The report adds that the German will push for a move in the summer with all the clubs battling for his signature, and United have to beat their rivals in signing the talented attacker.
The Red Devils have some of the best forwards in the Premier League with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford capable of causing havoc.
They invested well in Daniel James in the summer but their options seem limited when it comes to the attacking midfielder’s role.
Paul Pogba plays in a deeper position while Jesse Lingard has been inconsistent at Old Trafford.
Havertz not only has an eye for goal but he is one of the most creative players in the Bundesliga.
The 20-year-old can feature on either wing but his best position is just behind the striker. The German could flourish with pacey attackers ahead of him while United’s forwards would get more chances to attack.
Havertz has grown in stature at Leverkusen and is now a regular for the German national side.
The report claims that Leverkusen want to get the best value for their star, but spending big should not be a problem for United.
The Red Devils don’t have a creative force in the team and a trio of Pogba, Havertz and a quality defensive midfielder could dominate the Premier League for years.
Havertz has several years ahead of him and seems set to have a bright future. United landing him would be a coup for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and would take his rebuilding of the club to the next level.
