Manchester United opinion: Should the Red Devils go for Nicolas Pepe?

Manchester United have had an utterly terrible season. Sure, there was a brief period where they did well before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed. But after that, it returned to a terrible season, with the Red Devils ending the season with a 2-0 loss to Cardiff City.

To make things even worse, the Bluebirds were already relegated and had nothing left to lose. It’s why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has such a large job ahead of him if he ever wants to sort out the team and make them genuine contenders for anything.

Something has to change for the club, otherwise, they could end up finishing below sixth place. It’s why the club really needs to change in the future because for a club of their stature and their past, it’s something that they really need to do.

However, that is easier said than done and their recent past is proof of why the Red Devils have to improve going forward. They’ve been linked with moves for Jadon Sancho (Daily Star), Kalidou Koulibaly, and Kostas Manolas among others. But it’s Nicolas Pepe, the club really needs to make a move for.

The Birmingham Mail has reported that the Red Devils have now entered the race. The 22-year-old has had a downright incredible season for LOSC Lille. So far, he’s managed to net 21 goals and has created 12 more, which has seen Arsenal and even Liverpool enter the race for his signature.

The Lille president has claimed that the 23-year-old will be allowed to leave the club in the summer. It could see the club net an insane amount of money. This is something Manchester United have to take full advantage of.

The 23-year-old is an exceptional player in the final third and has consistently scored or provided goals in his playing career. It’s what many Red Devils have failed to do this season, with Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez the prime suspects.

Conclusion

Nicolas Pepe is on his way to great things and at the age of 23, he will only improve going forward, which further makes the move a spectacular one.

The Ivory Coast international has the potential to not only successfully replace both Lingard and Sanchez but also help the Red Devils do great things.
