Magical Silva – The Best And The Worst Rated Manchester City Players From The Huge 4-0 Win vs Swansea

Share

Full Time: Swansea City 0-4 Manchester City

Manchester City marched on in undisturbed fashion as they cleaned up a struggling Swansea side 4-0, with a brace from the little magician, David Silva, and goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Agüero late on. Right from the outset, they were on the front foot in terms of attack. Pep’s side really don’t seem to be bothered about the hectic Christmas schedule as they are walking over every opponent that is coming their way. They pushed the Swans deeper and deeper, as they were firing on all cylinders. Now with 15 wins in a row, they are set to break many more records.

Here’s how the Man City players fared:

Manchester City Player Ratings

Ederson: 7.5/10

He was as confident as ever with his passing and wasn’t disturbed too much in goal. Made a brilliant stop that deflected off Delph to deny the Swans. Ederson stood up to the challenge.

Danilo: 8/10

Very tidy when it came to clearing his lines or keeping the shape. While going forward, he was full of intent and always looked like he was involved with the creative crew up front.

Nicholas Otamendi: 6/10

Could have scored for the third game running but skied a cross that came in from Bernardo Silva. At the back, he didn’t have to do much at all.

Eliaquim Mangala: 7/10

He could have scored too, from De Bruyne’s free-kick had he had a slight touch. Mangala’s positioning, man marking and physicality were all the highlights of his game yesterday. He took good care of Bonythroughoutt.

Fabian Delph: 8/10

Delph enjoyed playing at the centre more often, when City’s players were all on a rampage. He quickly covered a lot of ground and played a smart, narrow defensive role against a hapless Swansea attack.

Fernandinho: 8/10

Easy on the ball, delightful on the eye, Fernandinho enjoyed a lot of space and time to create chances. He won the ball back up the pitch to keep possession too.

Kevin De Bruyne: 9/10

A sumptuous, deadly strike off the dead ball to claim another goal to his name. Otherwise, he picked the ball up and dictated the play, linked up excellently, whipped in a few and lined up his teammates.

David Silva: 9.5/10

He is in such rich form, especially because the Spaniard is so directly involved in goals. With De Bruyne deployed behind, he proves how composed and skillful he is while dribbling and driving forward. Two good goals to his tally.

Bernardo Silva: 8.5/10

His pace and crossing was first class. A fine performance after quite some time for him. He provided the assist to David Silva.

Raheem Sterling: 8/10

Very purposeful while playing the perfect weighted passes and yet another top-notch dribbling display.

Sergio Agüero: 8.5/10

Kun Aguero has got one of the best first-touches for any striker. His ball control in the box is breathtaking and tantalising. A much needed, much deserved goal to the club’s record scorer.

Substitutes

Yaya Toure: 5/10

As City were cruising, Yaya had to hold deeper. A touch lazy.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: 6/10

A good start. He was immediately involved in the proceedings but needs to control his shots a bit more.

Ilkay Gundogan: 7/10

Played the perfect box to box role. Made sure no nonsense happened around him.
