Luhukay to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Sheffield Wednesday XI to face Nottingham Forest

Predicted Sheffield Wednesday line-up to face Nottingham Forest

Sheffield Wednesday continued the resurgence in their form as they came from two goals down to get a point against Stoke City. It was an impressive performance in a sense that the belief was there among the players to haul the two-goal deficit against a good team.

Jos Luhukay’s men have climbed up the table in the past few weeks after a stuttering start to the season. They now are ninth on the table, winning 10 of the 12 available points in the previous four games (including the Stoke game).

The Owls are now up against Nottingham Forest away from home on Wednesday.

Team News

Sam Winnall and Almen Abdi are back in training but it would be a surprise if they are considered for this game. Meanwhile, Joost van Aken and Kieran Lee remain out for a few days. Luhukay might not be tempted to tinker much with the starting line-up which is starting to produce results.

Probable Sheffield Wednesday XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jos Luhukay

Cameron Dawson (GK)

Dawson has been decent enough in goal for Wednesday this season. Should start this game.

Liam Palmer (RB)

Palmer has been defensively solid. Luhukay would be hoping more from him.

Tom Lees

Tom Lees (CB)

The skipper is leading the way at the back for the Owls. His partnership with Thorniley is proving to be the key.

Jordan Thorniley (CB)

Struggled early on against Stoke but recovered well to restore command and solidity.

Matt Penney (LB)

Penney was very good against Stoke City, keeping Tom Ince quiet. The youngster is keeping Morgan Fox out of the team at the moment.

Josh Onomah (CM)

The Tottenham Hotspur loanee may just get a chance to shine in the midfield in the place of an inconsistent Joey Pelupessy.

Barry Bannan

Barry Bannan (CM)

One of the standout performers for the Owls this season and continues to be a key member of the squad.

Adam Reach (CAM)

Reach is slowly gaining confidence and is putting in good displays as a No.10. Was not at his best against Stoke but he still managed to make an impact.

Marco Matias (RW)

Took his goal so well on Saturday but was largely frustrating. He gives the ball away too easily at times, which would be irritating for the manager. Needs to improve in order to continue getting opportunities.

Atdhe Nuhiu

Atdhe Nuhiu (ST)

Fletcher started against Stoke and failed to harness much impact. We may see Nuhiu back in the starting line-up on Wednesday.

Lucas Joao (LW)

Another player who has improved his form after a twitchy start. Luhukay would want more from him in the final third.
