“Lennon out”, “Shambles”: Several Celtic fans in utter frustration after 2-0 loss to Livingston + Match report

Livingston v Celtic Report – Celtic Match Report

10-man Celtic suffered their first league defeat of this season with a 2-0 loss at Livingston.

Goals from Scott Robinson and Lyndon Dykes was enough to down the Hoops, who were down by man around the half-hour mark when Ryan Christie was sent off.

After a physically demanding start to the game, where both teams had half chances to go ahead, Christie made a horrendous tackle on Crawford in the 27th minute to deservedly get a red card from the referee.

Celtic responded to that well by moving forward and dominating the game until half-time but they didn’t have enough incisiveness to cut through the Livingston back-line.

Right at the start of the second half, Crawford found Robinson with a through ball and the latter blasted his effort into the back of the net, leaving Fraser Forster with no chance to save that.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon then switched to two strikers up front by bringing Vakoun Bayo on, however, it didn’t really affect the game much as the away side looked toothless going forward most of the time.

Eighteen minutes from time, Dykes made it a 2-0 when a long ball from the Livingston keeper caught the Celtic defence flat-footed, and the aforementioned scorer had the nerve to chip his effort into the net.

That goal was probably the match-winner as 10-man Celtic never looked like scoring a goal, let alone two.

All in all, a disappointing day in the office for Lennon and his men, who have now sent Rangers top of the table.

Here’s how the Celtic fans reacted after this game:
