Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has always admired the Polish International Robert Lewandowski. The Borussia Dortmund striker was linked with a move to Old Trafford for a deal worth of £35 million before United secured the services of Arsenal’s talisman Robin Van Persie. However that has not stopped Ferguson from plotting a move for Lewandowski, the manager was found in the stands to watch the striker closely during Dortmund’s Champions league game against rivals Manchester City.
Lewandowski not ready to move to premier league as of nowBut Lewandowski played down the interest in him as he refused to accept that there was any direct contact with him by United. The striker was quick to pint out that he is loyal to his current club and will respect his contract with Borussia Dortmund.
“I didn’t even know Sir Alex Ferguson was in the stands against City but it wouldn’t influence me at all. I haven’t got plans to change clubs. I have a contract with Borussia and I focus on that. I focus on being at my best in every single match. I want to play the best season of my career.”
But Lewandowski also admitted that he will welcome any chance that he gets to play in England.
“I haven’t had the chance to play in England but, maybe, one day. What I like about British football is that it is fast and hard. For sure it would be interesting but there’s no straight answer for the moment.”
