According to a report from the Leicester Mercury, Leicester City have been linked with a move for Bury starlet Callum Hulme.
Bury are currently struggling with financial issues and would be open to procuring funds through player sales. As a result, Hulme might have to head to the King Power.
Hulme joined Bury after starting out as youth player at Manchester City. Now 18, Hulme will be hoping to return to playing for a top-flight club. Hulme is a creative player, who usually plays as an attacking midfielder but is still a little short of experience after making only one league appearance last season.
While a Premier League move will be a big jump, he shouldn’t have trouble settling in as he’s aware of what the scene is like.
He will also be encouraged to know that current Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is a big believer in youth players, as he has shown over the years.
It’s one thing to be a believer in youth but it’s another to play attractive football. With Rodgers at the helm, Hulme will have the perfect manager and coach to help integrate him into the first-team.
In fact, the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kieran Tierney and so many other youngsters are a testament to that. The manager currently has the reigns to an exciting team at Leicester and are likely to make inroads into European competitions soon.
In the attacking midfielder department, Hulme will have some serious competition in James Maddison and Youri Tielemans. Both players are not only two of the most exciting prospects in England but around Europe.
However, nothing is written in stone and if an injury is to take place, Hulme should grab the opportunity by the scruff of the neck. On another positive note, he will have two solid players to learn from and will have a picture of what it’ll take for him to get onto the same level.

This is a move that will help Hulme in his development and Leicester can continue to slowly build a team that’s ready to challenge anyone in a few years.
