Leicester City opinion: Should the Foxes make a move for James Justin?

According to reports from English news outlet the Daily Mail, Leicester City have entered the race for James Justin. The report further adds that manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to add more depth to his squad and believes that the 21-year-old can help.

He’s had a rather interesting season and was even named in the League 1 team of the year. However, despite that, it’s Justin’s sheer skill on the ball that should help Leicester City.

The 21-year-old may never get a chance to play first team football, especially given the form that Ben Chilwell is in at the moment.

But his form has been noticed by the bigger Premier League sides, including but not limited to Manchester City and Manchester United. While Leicester City have already revealed that they are not interested in selling the Englishman, there is a chance that their hand might be forced.

And that would leave them with no back-up left-back, barring Ricardo Pereira. It’s exactly where someone like James Justin would walk in and despite only being a League one starlet; he has the ability to make an immediate impact.

A modern full-back, the 21-year-old is versatile enough to be able to play as a left-back or a right-back, even used as a centre-back. Not only that, his confidence and creativity in the final third has also seen him used further forward.

But it’s as a full-back that James Justin really flourishes. It allows the youngster to showcase the best of his talents, both offensively and defensively. Not only that, as Chilwell did at Leicester, Justin also did it at Luton Town, joining their youth academy, progressing at a very rapid rate.

He made his debut for the club on the final day of the 2015/16 season and never looked back, making well over a 100 appearances. It’s not too much but it’s just the right amount and it’s exactly what Leicester City need.

They need someone to help out Ben Chilwell and add some competition at the club.

The Foxes are chasing after a European spot or at least that should be their target at the very least, which is why they cannot have just the one full-back. Instead, it’s exactly where someone young and experienced like James Justin can help.

Conclusion

Leicester City does not need to sign world-class or even budding world-class stars. They need a few additions here and there alongside someone exactly like James Justin. The 21-year-old is talented and needs to move on to a bigger and better side.
