According to a report from The Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in Tottenham’s Tashan Oakley-Boothe, with the report claiming that a number of English clubs including Stoke City and Swansea are in the transfer race. (h/t The Daily Mail)
The 19-year-old was a regular for the North London outfit’s reserves side, playing around 20 games last term.
However, Oakley-Boothe is highly lionized as a player of the England national team that won the U-17 World Cup in India last year.
He has made only two appearances for the Tottenham senior team so far and that was in the pre-season in 2017 followed by a substitute appearance in the League cup the following season. Okaley-Boothe normally plays as a defensive midfielder.
At Elland Road, Marcelo Bielsa is in the middle of an exodus crisis as substantial players like Pontus Jansson and Jack Clarke have already sought an exit from the club, although the latter has returned on loan.
To make the matters worse, Kemar Roofe and Kalvin Phillips have also been linked with a summer move, leaving the Argentine manager in a fix.
Phillips’ presence at Elland Road turned out to be pivotal for the Whites and finding someone who could replace his void looks like a tedious one.
However, they can benefit from North London talent Oakley-Boothe, who is also struggling to make his way to the top.
The Championship could be a great destination for the English teenager to build his career and doing the same under the guidance of Bielsa will be the icing on the cake.

On the other hand, for Oakley-Boothe, it wouldn’t be a cakewalk to find his breakthrough straightway unless he makes up his mind to fight for his place with highly-competent players like Mateusz Klich.
As far as things are concerned in the transfer market right now, the Whites have found themselves in the receiving end and they should get things running as soon as possible.
With the priority turning out to be the midfield should Phillips seek an exit, the Whites should provide room for young talents like Oakley-Boothe.
