The 23 man shortlist for the 2012 Ballon d’or awards was announced on October 29th and as expected Messi and Ronaldo made it to the final three which also included Spain’s World cup winner Andres Iniesta.
The winners of all of the awards will be revealed at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala as part of a televised show at the Zurich Kongresshaus on 7 January 2013.
However, yesterday Twitter was swarmed by a photo which had Lionel Messi’s name engraved below the award potentially revealing the winner. If it true then the Argentine will receive his fourth consecutive award.
The news first appeared in Argentine sports daily, Diario Ole. There is another two weeks to find out if it true or not.
