Lasogga, Hernandez to start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Leeds United lineup to face Queens Park Rangers

Share

Leeds have endured a very disappointing season this term. Despite starting out as playoff contenders, they find themselves in the 14th place in the table. Although they never looked like they were in danger, they also never looked strong enough to progress further up the table.

However, Leeds will be looking to finish on a high to set the tone for next season. QPR are one place below them in the Championship standings and they will share a similar thought process.

Stuart Dallas is out injured, adding to a long list for Leeds United.

Predicted Leeds United XI to face Queens Park Rangers

Manager: Paul Heckingbottom

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Bailey Peacock-Farrell (GK)

The young goalkeeper has excelled this season and has arguably done enough to establish him as Leeds’ No.1 next season.

Matthew Pennington (RB)

Pennington has had a good run of games in the right-back position but he has not really excelled. He defends well but offers little going forward.

Matthew Pennington

Pontus Jansson (CB)

Jansson is the undisputed leader for Leeds at the back but injury problems have kept him from reaching his true potential.

Liam Cooper (CB)

Cooper usually looks confident in the heart of the defence and has done well for most of the season.

Tom Pearce (LB)

The 20-year-old left-back has come into the squad over the last few games and has done quite well. He seems to have potential but it is tough for him to thrive in a side that has little confidence.

Kalvin Phillips (CM)

The defensive midfielder has really stood out for Leeds this season and is a great asset to his team.

Ronaldo Viera (CM)

Viera has been another shining light for the Leeds team this year, and it really seems like there might be a good future for the side if they build around both him and Phillips. Needs to grab a few more goals, but there is a lot of potential there.

Pablo Hernandez (LW)

The 33-year-old adds some real experience and skill to this Leeds squad – he has pitched in with some good goals and assists and can really run his team on his day.

Samuel Saiz (CAM)

Saiz has also had an excellent season for Leeds, having shown exceptional talent in the attacking midfield position. However, he needs to work on his consistency.

Samuel Saiz

Ezgjan Alioski (RW)

Alioski has enjoyed a decent season so far – the 26-year-old has gotten a few good goals and he will be keen to continue his good form.

Pierre Michel Lasogga (ST)

Leeds have had a bit of a striker problem this season. Lasogga and Roofe both have ten goals each but they have failed to maintain consistency.
