Predicted Derby County line-up to face Hull City in the Carabao Cup

Derby County are back on the road on Tuesday as their Carabao Cup journey continues at Hull City.

On Saturday, Derby claimed back-to-back Championship victories with an impressive 2-0 win over Preston North End.

The Rams head into this clash with Hull on the back of an impressive win over Preston and Frank Lampard will be hoping to see his side to put in another stellar showing and qualify for the next round of the Carabao Cup.

Team news

George Evans will be sidelined for some time due to a ligament damage he sustained in the win over Ipswich Town.

Jayden Bogle limped off after 30 minutes in the home win over Preston and Lampard confirmed it’s an ankle injury. He is likely to miss the Hull City clash and so could experienced defender Curtis Davies due to hamstring injury.

Harry Wilson is a doubt for Hull after missing the Preston game but Tom Huddlestone and Scott Malone could be in contention after recovering from respective injuries.

Probable Derby County XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Frank Lampard

Scott Carson (GK)

Carson has been terrific in goal this season and there is no reason why he shouldn’t start against Hull.

Andre Wisdom (RB)

Wisdom did very well when he replaced Bogle midway through the last weekend’s game. He is expected to get a free run at right-back unless Bogle returns.

Richard Keogh (CB)

Put in a captain’s show against Preston and Lampard will be hoping Keogh continues in the same manner.

Fikayo Tomori (CB)

Tomori has done well for the Rams, building a good partnership at centre-half alongside Keogh in the absence of the injured Curtis Davies.

Craig Forsyth (LB)

Forsyth is a solid player to have in the squad and he is expected to start at left-back against Hull.

Bradley Johnson (CDM)

Starting in a deeper role could be Bradley Johnson. He is an energetic presence in the midfield and can distribute the ball well from a deeper position.

Craig Bryson (RCM)

On his day, Bryson is one of the best midfielders in the division. He adds quality to Derby’s midfield and keeps them ticking.

Mason Mount (LCM)

Mount has been a fantastic player under Lampard with the Chelsea loanee impressing the supporters with his creativity and goals. He is a sure starter.

Mason Bennett (LW)

Bennett looks like a player revitalised under Lampard. The wide man has done extremely well so far this season and should retain his place on the right against the Tigers.

Florian Jozefzoon (RW)

Lawrence is in fantastic form but he needs rest, meaning Jozefzoon could come in at left-wing. Jozefzoon is a speedster who can wreak havoc against Hull.

Jack Marriott (ST)

Leading Derby’s attack could be Marriott, who needs a couple of goals to find his feet at the club.
