Predicted Rangers Line-up To Face Aberdeen In Scottish Premiership

After two defeats in a row, Graeme Murty could do with a confidence-boosting win now more than ever but his Rangers side face a very tough test at Ibrox when they face Derek McInnes’ Aberdeen.

Despite dominating possession at Dens Park, Rangers fell to a demoralising 2-1 loss to Dundee on Friday night and changes will now be needed. Alfredo Morelos was in danger of losing his place anyway, but after hobbling off injured last time, he should be replaced anyway by Eduardo Herrera.

Graham Dorrans should still be missing through injury, likewise, long-term absentee Lee Wallace too. So Murty will most likely be left with the following personnel in a 4-4-2 formation:

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Graeme Murty

GK – Wes Foderingham

Things need to change at Rangers long-term and, despite him not necessarily making mistakes, Foderingham is perhaps one of them. A top class ‘keeper is needed I feel.

RB – James Tavernier

Rangers were interested in Callum Paterson in the summer but have stuck with the former Newcastle man, though once more it seems more quality is needed here.

James Tavernier

CB – Ross McCrorie

Many young Rangers players have come and gone over the years, and not all have made it in the long-term.  McCrorie should start again though and has every chance of making it.

CB – Danny Wilson

The former Hearts man brings experience to the squad and is likely to continue his partnership at the back with McCrorie.

LB – Declan John

The admirable attacking left-back has filled in very well for Lee Wallace and should once again take his place in the starting XI.

RW – Daniel Candeias

Was withdrawn with five minutes to go at Dens Park but is likely to start once more at Ibrox.

Daniel Candeias

CM – Ryan Jack

A big night in store for the former Aberdeen captain, who needs a huge performance in order to lift his team on their home patch.

CM – Jason Holt

Filling in for Dorrans and doing well enough, though you can’t help feeling that Rangers need the ex-Norwich man back in sharp form.

LW – Josh Windass

Has found his scoring touch now and is likely to be called up again.

Kenny Miller

ST – Kenny Miller

Remains a very good goal scoring proposition and continues to partner whoever Murty throws up front.

ST – Eduardo Herrera

With Morelos out, the Mexican should step into the breach and will hopefully work well enough with Kenny Miller.  Rangers need goals; simple as that, so a big performance is required.
