Jesus To Lead The Line – Strongest 4-1-4-1 Manchester City Line-Up To Face Leicester City

Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face Leicester City

Manchester City will look to consolidate their position in the top four of the Premier League when they take on defending champions Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s men are currently seated 4th in the league table, just a point behind 3rd-placed Liverpool and with a game in hand. They come into Saturday’s encounter after handing a 5-0 drubbing to Crystal Palace last weekend and will be hoping for more of the same against the Foxes. However, the fact that they lost 4-2 at the hands of Leicester earlier this season will play on their minds.

Team News

Striker Sergio Aguero is expected to be ready for the game after missing out last week. Defender John Stones may also be available for selection having been ruled out of action for close to a month now.

Probable Manchester City Starting XI:

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Willy Caballero (GK)

The Argentine will see these last few weeks as an opportunity to impress the boss and get a new deal ahead of next season.

Jesus Navas (RB)

Has found a new lease of life at right-back. Having sat out last week, he is expected to return to the playing XI to face Leicester City.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

Since the captain has returned from injury, City have looked defensively stable. A definite starter.

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

The Argentine centre-half looks a much better player playing alongside Kompany. Will partner him at the heart of the defence.

Gael Clichy (LB)

The Frenchman hasn’t been the most trustworthy player for Guardiola this term, but a good display against Palace last week will earn him another start.

Yaya Toure (DM)

The Ivorian international has been doing brilliantly in recent weeks, controlling the game from the deep areas. Should retain his place for Saturday.

Raheem Sterling (RM)

The Englishman has the potential and the quality but needs to improve his decision-making in the final third. Will cause plenty of problems with his pace down the right flank.

Kevin De Bruyne (CM)

The Belgian was back to his best last weekend against the Eagles. Will look to continue from where he left off.

David Silva (CM)

City’s midfield maestro returned from injury last weekend and was at his scintillating best, pulling the strings. He will partner De Bruyne.

Leroy Sane (LM)

The German attacker has become a vital cog in the Manchester City attack and is starting to repay his huge transfer fee in a big way. He will pose a serious threat to the Leicester backline.

Gabriel Jesus (ST)

The Brazilian has taken the Premier League by storm and with Aguero having just returned from injury absence, Jesus will spearhead the attack again.
