Jenkinson And Xhaka To Start – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Arsenal Line-Up To Face West Ham United

After a reasonably easy victory over Bournemouth in the last round, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal face a tricky trip to the Olympic Stadium this weekend in the Premier League. Both teams were knocked out of the quarter-final stage of the League Cup earlier in the week and will be seeking redemption in this game. The Hammers are slowly finding some strength in the team and are expected to give the Gunners a decent challenge but the form in which they are, Arsenal should be able to take all three points from this game. Wenger is expected to play his strongest lineup for this game and here is how his team might line up for this trip to the Olympic Stadium:

Team News:

Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck, and Hector Bellerin remains the long-term absentees while Santi Cazorla is set to undergo a surgery which will keep him out of the game till the turn of the year, Mohamed El Neny was forced off in the League Cup on Wednesday and though it is nothing serious, he is not expected to be risked in this game.

Petr Cech:

The first choice shot-stopper for the Gunners, Cech has been brilliant in front of goal this season for the Gunners and he should start this game against West Ham.

Carl Jenkinson:

After a less than impressive performance by Debuchy at the weekend, Wenger should get Jenkinson back into the starting XI this weekend.

Laurent Koscielny:

Arguably the best defender in the league at the moment, Koscielny is one of the most important players for the Gunners and he will keep his place in the side for this game.

Shkodran Mustafi:

The German defender will travel to the Olympic Stadium for the first time in his career in what can prove to be a tricky game for the Gunners.

Nacho Monreal:

The first choice left-back for Wenger, Monreal is expected to provide some stability to the defence in this game against West Ham.

Francis Coquelin:

Arguably the best midfielder for Wenger this season, Coquelin will occupy the spot in front of the defense and will hope to have an easy game at the weekend.

Granit Xhaka:

Though not the first choice anymore, Xhaka provides a bit of steel to the midfield for the Gunners and he should start this game against the Hammers.

Theo Walcott:

The English winger has found it hard to be effective in the last few games but scored a goal late last weekend and will have his chance to impress again this weekend against West Ham.

Mesut Ozil:

The German midfielder was less than impressive in the victory over the Cherries last weekend but he should be back at his best if Arsenal are to take anything from this game.

Alex Iwobi:

The youngster has done a decent job on the wing for the Gunners recently and he should start this game in a similar position on the wing.

Alexis Sanchez:

The Chilean has been Arsenal’s best player so far this season, scoring a brace in the previous round as well and will have a difficult job against a strong Hammers’ defense at the Olympic stadium.
