Predicted Aston Villa Line-up To Face Leeds United In The EFL Championship

Aston Villa had a great result against Cardiff on Tuesday and they now seem set to make the playoffs. They have had a fantastic season and fully deserve the opportunity to play in the Premier League next season.

The will be looking to beat Leeds and put a little streak together so that the confidence flows when they head into those playoff fixtures. They come up against a Leeds United team who are not in great form.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Manager: Steve Bruce

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Sam Johnstone (GK)

The young English goalkeeper had a very good game against Cardiff and kept his team in it with five excellent saves to keep his clean sheet intact.

Neil Taylor (LB)

Axel Tuanzebe picked up another injury, against Cardiff, and it’s good timing that Neil Taylor will be back for this game to take his position at left-back.

James Chester (CB)

The 29-year-old had an excellent game against Cardiff and looked very strong in central defence alongside an unlikely partner in Jedinak. Will be hoping to continue his recent good performances.

Ahmed Elmohamady

Mile Jedinak (CB)

Mile Jedinak played very well in an unfamiliar role against Cardiff and may have to deputise in central defence for this game as well, with John Terry still doubtful due to the knock he picked up against Norwich.

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

Elmohamady has come into some good form of late and will be hoping that he can keep it up against Leeds. He also had an excellent game against Cardiff, keeping Hoilett quiet.

Glenn Whelan (CDM)

Whelan came into the team after Bjarnason injured himself in the warm-up at Cardiff. He played well and is likely to retain his place.

Albert Adomah (ML)

Albert Adomah has not really looked like himself in recent games and is nowhere near the form that he showed earlier in the season. Will be looking to pick up in the last few games of the season.

Jack Grealish (CM)

Grealish just keeps winning games for Aston Villa and he has been absolutely vital to their good performance in the league this season. Grabbed a goal against Cardiff and keeps looking more and more like the talent we were promised.

Conor Hourihane

Conor Hourihane (CM)

Didn’t have the best of games against Cardiff and will be looking to improve on that performance.

Robert Snodgrass (MR)

A player that forms the creative backbone of the Aston Villa team. He didn’t have the best of games against Cardiff but still looked a class act. Will be looking to push on against Leeds.

Scott Hogan (ST)

The Irish forward should come back on Friday. Bruce seems to like rotating his strikers and Grabban didn’t do enough against Cardiff to warrant an automatic inclusion.
