Predicted Hull City XI to face Stoke City in the Championship

Fresh after securing a 3-2 win against Rotherham United, Hull City prepare to face Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium this Saturday. Although Nigel Adkins fielded a fresh-look side in their midweek clash, numerous players worked wonders, putting in some fine performances.

In fact, their displays will certainly affect the selection process ahead of the new game. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the how the Tigers could line up to face the Potters this weekend.

Team News

Reece Burke returned for the Tigers against Rotherham, meaning he should be back to fitness. Elsewhere, James Weir and Ondrej Mazuch continue to be out injured.

Probable Hull City XI

Manager: Nigel Adkins

Formation: 4-2-3-1

David Marshall (GK)

Marshall is Hull’s go-to man in goal and he should find himself in the starting XI against Stoke City this weekend.

Eric Lichaj (RB)

Although he played at left-back and excelled against Rotherham, Lichaj should be deployed in his usual role at right-back on Saturday.

Jordy de Wijs (CB)

He still needs time to fully adapt to English football but the initial signs have been promising. To help him settle in quicker, Adkins should hand him a start.

Reece Burke (CB)

Burke put in a decent performance against Rotherham but the youngster is capable of doing a lot better. Should receive another start this weekend.

Stephen Kingsley (LB)

Kingsley must return to the left-back role since his influence and impact remains unparalleled.

Stephen Kingsley

Daniel Batty (DM)

Batty put in an excellent performance against Rotherham as he bossed the midfield like no other. Hence, he should be provided with another start this weekend.

Markus Henriksen (DM)

Henriksen’s composure is crucial in the middle of the park and he must partner Batty.

Jarrod Bowen (RW)

Bowen is yet to score a goal but he provided a crucial assist for Jackson Irvine’s second goal against Rotherham. His presence will be necessary against a stubborn Stoke defence.

Jarrod Bowen

Evandro (AM)

His playmaking skills are top-notch and he will play a key role in creating chances in the final third.

Jackson Irvine (LW)

Irvine thrived at left-wing against Rotherham, scoring a fantastic brace. The possibility of picking up 3 more points this weekend should prompt Adkins to deploy him at left-wing once again.
