INJURY BOOST for Arsenal! Hard Tackling Defender Is Almost Back To Full Fitness

Arsenal Defender Gabriel will be making his return to the first team after having suffered a hamstring injury earlier this month.

The 25-year-old player excelled in the Gunners match against Bournemouth alongside Laurent Koscielny. The player has recently started featuring in the first team after often being used as a backup for Per Mertesacker and Koscielny. However this time around, he may be featuring more often in the first team as a replacement for Mertesacker as the latter’s form has not been impressive.

The player brings to the field his superior pace and strength and has further won 60% of his tackles and completed 89% of his passes, according to Sqawka.

He said in a recent interview,

“I went to Brazil briefly to try and recover, and also to be close to my family as well. Now I’m back and working with the help of Arsenal’s medical team to come back.

“I’m very happy with the training sessions at the end of last week and hope to continue with this work to be able to be at the manager’s disposal soon.

“I had been playing well for four or five consecutive games, being praised by everyone, so this injury took me by surprise. It made me sad, that’s why I returned to Brazil.

“But now I want to recover as quickly as possible to be able to play with the team as soon as I can.”

Arsenal are getting ready for their upcoming match with Manchester United. They must regroup for the match after they lost against Barcelona by 2-0. While Gabriel is eager to get back into the first team game, after the match against Barcelona, Wenger too may be looking forward to the player returning to the field fit and able.
