Impressive Kouassi – The Best And The Worst Rated Celtic Players From The 1-1 Draw Against Kilmarnock

Celtic dropped two points at home, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom feeders Kilmarnock, at the Celtic Park, on Saturday.  

The reigning champions opened the scoring in what was a dominant first-half display, through Scottish striker Leigh Griffiths, who finished coolly past Jamie McDonald. However, the Killies managed to get back on level terms just before the hour-mark, as Jordan Jones managed to breach Craig Gordon’s goal to make it 1-1.

Brendan Rodgers’ side may not have won the game, but they extended their unbeaten run in domestic competitions to 62 games, equaling a 100-year old British record.

Craig Gordon – 6/10

Had very little to do in the first period, but could have reacted faster in the lead up to the leveler for the Killies. 

Mikael Lustig – 6/10

Spent most of the first-half helping his team in attack, but needed to be stronger in the air in the event leading to the goal. 

Nir Bitton – 6/10

The Israeli international spent the first period playing almost in a midfield position, with his team dominating the proceedings. Decent display. 

Kristoffer Ajer – 7/10

Strong and sturdy display from the youngster, coming in for Dedryck Boyata. Showed good strength and some good footwork as well. 

Kieran Tierney – 7/10

Was a constant danger down the left flank throughout the game. Kept romping down the line and hit threatening crosses. 

Eboue Kouassi – 7/10

Distributed the ball well in the first period and controlled things nicely. Played a sublime through ball for Griffiths, leading to the opener. 

Olivier Ntcham – 6.5/10

Returning to the line-up after two games, the former Manchester City man looked confident in midfield, before getting injured around the hour mark.

Patrick Roberts – 6/10

Another player who looked lively and confident but succumbed to injury just 30 minutes into the game, Roberts was a bright spark, but his end product didn’t always match up. 

Tom Rogic – 4/10

After a belter of a game against Aberdeen in the midweek, the Australian struggled to make any sort of impact on the game. Poor. 

Michael Johnston – 6/10

Wasn’t a whole lot impressive on the left-hand side, but looked dangerous after shifting to the right flank. However, couldn’t make the difference for the team. 

Leigh Griffiths – 7/10

Headed wide early on from Tierney’s cross, but showed great composure to finish Kouassi’s through ball for the opener. Tested the keeper with a curling effort.

Substitutes

Scott Sinclair – 5/10

Replaced the injured Roberts on the half-hour mark, but it was a subdued display from the Englishman. Failed to track Jones for the equaliser. 

Stuart Armstrong – 5/10

On for Ntcham on the hour mark. Misplaced his passes and never really got going. 

Moussa Dembele – 6/10

Thrown on for Johnston for the final 20 minutes. Had one shot saved by McDonald.
