Predicted Rangers line-up to face Spartak Moscow in the Europa League

Rangers will be up against Spartak Moscow on Thursday in the Europa League as the Glasgow giants look to take a big step into qualifying from their group.

The Gers currently sit top of Group G after three games on five points with opponents Spartak Moscow bottom of the table on just two points.

The last time the two sides met, it ended in a 0-0 draw at the Ibrox. However, Rangers could expect a tricky game in Russia on Thursday.

Team News

Kyle Lafferty missed the win over St Mirren with a thigh injury and remains a doubt for Thursday’s game.

Rangers will be without Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans who have both suffered long-term injuries.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

McGregor has been brilliant since returning back to Ibrox this summer. He will be in goal against Spartak Moscow.

James Tavernier (RB)

Tavernier has been a regular fixture in the team under Gerrard. The right-back has improved a lot and will look to continue his good form.

Connor Goldson (CB)

Goldson appears to be the signing of the summer for the Gers. He is an undoubted starter for the game.

Connor Goldson

Joe Worrall (CB)

Worrall is starting to show his quality in the Rangers defence, ousting Katic from the line-up lately.

Jon Flanagan (LB)

At left-back, Flanagan could get a chance after dropping out to the bench in the game against St Mirren.

Ryan Jack (CDM)

Protecting the back four will be Ryan Jack. He possesses excellent ball-retention skills and brings calmness in the midfield.

Scott Arfield (LCM)

In such tricky European fixtures, experience would be vital and Arfield would exactly give that to Rangers on Thursday.

Lassana Coulibaly (RCM)

Coulibaly adds a lot of steel to the Rangers midfield. He hasn’t been excellent since returning back from injury but his presence in midfield keeps the Gers ticking.

Eros Grezda (LW)

Grezda had a bad injury that has delayed his involvement with Rangers. Now back to full fitness, the Albanian would be raring to make a mark.

Ryan Kent (RW)

Kent has become a regular fixture in the team and will look to deliver the goods against Spartak Moscow.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

Morelos has been amongst the goals lately for the Gers which makes him a sure starter on Thursday in Russia.
