[Image] Predicted 4-3-3 Man United XI to face Man City – Can Solskjaer’s men pull one over their cross-city rivals?

Manchester United predictions vs Manchester City: Manchester United line-up

It’s a four-horse race for two positions in the Premier League. The coveted third and fourth Champions League spots are still up for grabs, with Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United interested. However, barring Chelsea, the other three sides have suffered losses.

While Arsenal’s 3-2 loss to Crystal Palace certainly created a few shockwaves, it was nothing compared to the 4-0 loss for the Red Devils. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side looked out of place and struggled for large periods of the game against Everton.

They were coming off a rather humilating defeat to Barcelona but that is no excuse for their poor performance. And now with Manchester City their next opponent things could get worse. The Cityzens are gunning for the title in a gung-ho, steam-roll all over their opponents fashion.

While it is exciting to watch, it does not bode well for the Red Devils. Not to mention that the fact it is a derby, is just an added bonus.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

David de Gea (GK)

He is their first-choice keeper but has struggled over the last few weeks, which does pose a problem against Manchester City.

Diogo Dalot (RB)

A talented right-back, the young Portuguese man has a bright future and should be playing regularly.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Despite conceding four goals against Everton, Smalling has been very solid at the back.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

The Swede was shifted out wide as a right-back, which was a shock given that he is arguably Manchester United’s best centre-back.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Suspended for the clash against Barcelona and Everton, the Red Devils will need him against Manchester City.

Scott McTominay (CM)

With Matic struggling against Everton, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to bring in some new blood and McTominay is the man they need.

Paul Pogba (LCM)

A world-class talent, the midfielder has to start performing if Manchester United want even a small chance of making the top four.

Fred (RCM)

The Brazilian has done a comparatively decent job in the midfield and needs to keep that form going.

Jesse Lingard (RW)

Among the many that failed to impress against Barcelona and Everton, the 26-year-old has done close to nothing this season and it’s time to show what he can do.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

He’s currently on a four-game goal drought and it’s high time, Lukaku starts finding the back of the net.

Marcus Rashford (LW)

A bright young star, the 21-year-old struggled against Everton and was eventually substituted.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
