Manchester City vs Tottenham prediction: Manchester City line-up

After a hard-fought victory against Brighton in the semifinals of the FA Cup, Manchester City now travel to the new White Hart Lane to face Tottenham in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals.

Pep Guardiola’s have won 14 games in a row in all competitions and are in outstanding form. The Cityzens have a massive chance of achieving the quadruple this season but Tottenham are high on confidence after a winning start to life at their new home.

Team news

Sergio Aguero is expected to return to the squad after limping off with a knee injury in last weekend’s game. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabian Delph and Claudio Bravo are all ruled out with injuries and will not make the trip to North London on Tuesday.

Probable Manchester City XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Ederson (GK)

The Brazilian is City’s only available first-team goalkeeper and he has been in fine form for them all season. He is expected to continue in goal against Tottenham.

Kyle Walker (RB)

The former Tottenham man will look to make an impact against his former side on Tuesday and he should start ahead of Danilo, who replaced him in the FA Cup tie against Brighton.

John Stones (CB)

The former Everton man came off the bench against Brighton at Wembley but should start the game against Spurs this midweek.

Aymeric Laporte (CB)

One of Manchester City’s best players this season, Laporte has filled in at left-back at times this season but he should return to his natural role on Tuesday.

Benjamin Mendy (LB)

The Frenchman started against Brighton after his long injury lay-off and had a difficult outing. However, Mendy’s ability at left-back is invaluable and he should start again in the midweek.

Fernandinho (CM)

The 33-year-old started the FA Cup tie from the bench but his experience and authority in the midfield will be crucial in the big game on Tuesday.

David Silva (CM)

The veteran Spaniard has been one of City’s biggest assets over the last few years and his creativity from central midfield could sway the game towards Pep Guardiola’s side.

Kevin de Bruyne (CM)

The Belgian has struggled to reproduce last season’s performances so far but his quality on the ball is unquestionable. He should start in the middle of the park on Tuesday.

Bernardo Silva (RW)

One of City’s most influential players this season, Silva has 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season. City fans will be hoping that he continues his form against Tottenham on Tuesday.

Sergio Aguero (ST)

Manchester City’s top scorer and arguably their biggest threat on the pitch, Aguero, if fit, is a guaranteed name in Guardiola’s team sheet and his performance in front of goal could determine the game.
