Predicted Chelsea line-up to face Watford in the Premier League

Chelsea will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they face a potentially tricky game against Watford away at Vicarage Road this Wednesday night. The Blues were dealt with a shock when they were defeated by Leicester City at home on Saturday. As a result of that, Maurizio Sarri’s men are just about in fourth place in the table, ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal on goal difference.

They will have a tough game against the Hornets who were professional in their 2-0 win away at West Ham on Saturday. Javi Gracia’s men demolished Chelsea 4-1 in the corresponding fixture last season, hence, the Blues should go into this game with some sort of revenge in mind.

Team News

Andreas Christensen is out. Alvaro Morata will go through a late fitness test.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa

Kepa Arrizabalaga (GK)

The Spaniard made a good save against Leicester and has been doing well since his arrival. He starts every league game.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)

The experience of the Spaniard will be key in a vital away game for the Blues.

Antonio Rudiger (CB)

The German has been pretty solid at the back alongside David Luiz at the heart of Chelsea defence. Expect him to start.

David Luiz (CB)

Luiz has done well to recover after a nightmare against Tottenham. He is doing a good job alongside Rudiger.

Emerson (LB)

Marcos Alonso has struggled in the past few games. Sarri should give Emerson a chance to show what he can do at left-back.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas (CDM)

Jorginho struggled against Leicester, hence, he could do with a rest for this game. Fabregas might get his chance.

Ross Barkley (LCM)

Chelsea need more attacking thrust in the midfield and Barkley could provide that with his late runs from midfield and forward passes.

N’Golo Kante (RCM)

He isn’t the same Kante when playing in a slightly advanced midfield role but the Frenchman remains an important player for the team.

Eden Hazard (LW)

The Belgian is better off playing with a striker and combining with him. Leading the line isn’t always a good option.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

The hold up play and physicality of Giroud will be helpful against a physical team like Watford. He is a very good target man to have.

Pedro

Pedro (RW)

Willian has been in patchy form lately. Expect Pedro to start ahead of the Brazilian if there is a toss up between them.
