Predicted Aston Villa line-up to face Swansea in the Championship

Aston Villa, under the new management of Dean Smith, will begin their new journey when they host Swansea City on Saturday. After a scrappy start to the season under Steve Bruce, the sack was around the corner. And the Birmingham club finally pulled the trigger and appointed former Brentford boss to handle the sinking ship.

Smith’s first test is against a Swansea team, who are also out of form at the moment, winning only one of their previous six games. Villa also possess the same record. Hence, the new manager has a lot of work to do to take this team to a better position.

Team News

Mile Jedinak suffered a hamstring strain before the international break. Harry McKirdy is out for more than just a few weeks.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Dean Smith

Orjan Nyland (GK)

The Norwegian has struggled to settle into the team. Maybe a change in manager would prompt a change in performance level.

Ahmed Elmohamady

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

The Egyptian would be better off playing at right-back and should start this game

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

Tuanzebe could play a key role in the team under Dean Smith.

James Chester (CB)

Chester should straightaway come back into the line-up after being suspended for the Millwall game due to the red card he received against Preston.

Alan Hutton (LB)

The veteran’s experience could be a vital aspect going forward this season.

John McGinn

John McGinn (CM)

McGinn has been one of the best players for Villa this campaign. The manager would be expecting more of the same from him.

Birkir Bjarnason (CM)

The Icelander would be looking for a fresh start under Dean Smith after a fairly inconsistent start to the season.

Yannick Bolasie (LW)

The loanee from Everton must start for the Birmingham club as he possesses the experience and the talent to create more chances for the team.

Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish (CAM)

Grealish is at his best when playing in the central attacking midfield role. He can link the play between the midfield and the attack.

Albert Adomah (RW)

Adomah hasn’t made a good start to the season, however, under the new manager, he should be fired up to perform better and keep his place.
