Predicted Rangers line-up to face Celtic in the Scottish Premiership

Rangers will welcome arch-rivals Celtic to the Ibrox on Saturday as Steven Gerrard looks to get one over Brendan Rodgers.

The Gers head into the Old Firm clash three points behind Celtic after dropping points against Hibernian on Boxing Day.

It is expected to be an intense atmosphere at the Ibrox and Steven Gerrard will hope his boys put in a stellar display to get all three points against Celtic after the disappointment in midweek.

Team News

Connor Goldson picked up a knee injury against Hibernian and joins Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Gareth McAuley and Ryan Jack on the list of doubtful.

Probable Rangers XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Steven Gerrard

Allan McGregor (GK)

McGregor is a reliable presence in goal and should start in the derby.

James Tavernier

James Tavernier (RB)

Tavernier will look to lead the team by an example and guide Rangers to all three points on Saturday.

Joe Worrall (CB)

Worrall will have a massive task of keeping the in-form Celtic attack at bay.

Nikola Katic (CB)

With Goldson doubtful, Katic could replace him in the starting XI at the weekend.

Andy Halliday (LB)

With Borna Barisic out injured, Halliday is expected to start again at left-back.

Ross McCrorie (CDM)

In the holding role, McCrorie will have to be at the top of his game to try and nullify the Celtic attackers on Saturday.

Lassana Coulibaly (RCM)

Coulibaly adds a lot of bite and energy to the Rangers engine room. Gerrard will expect the midfield ace to deliver the goods at the weekend.

Jordan Rossiter (LCM)

With Jack and Arfield a major doubt, Gerrard could throw Rossiter in the intense game against Celtic.

Daniel Candeias (RW)

Candeias will be expected to deliver the goods. The Portuguese has been a part of such derby clashes before and knows what it takes to win.

Glenn Middleton (LW)

With his explosive pace and directness, Middleton could give the Celtic defence a tough time.

Alfredo Morelos (ST)

There is no doubt that Morelos will lead Rangers’ attack at home against Rodgers’ Celtic. The diminutive Colombian, however, has to keep his calm and play his natural game to help Rangers earn the bragging rights.
