Predicted Leeds United line-up to face Reading in the Championship

Leeds United would be aiming to continue their winning form when they face Reading at Elland Road on Tuesday night. Marcelo Bielsa’s men were comfortable 2-0 winners over Bristol City on Saturday and looked in good touch.

They now face a Reading team who are 20th in the table and haven’t lost in the previous three games. The Peacocks should be seeking to get another three points and get close to the top of the table which is currently led by Norwich City.

Team News

Pontus Jansson was injured during the international break and wouldn’t be fit for this game. Bailey-Peacocks Farrell also seem to have picked up a knee injury that might keep him out of action for a while. Patrick Bamford is back in training after a long-term absence. Gaetano Berardi isn’t back until February.

Probable Leeds United XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Marcelo Bielsa

William Huffer (GK)

With Peacock-Farrell injured, we may see the youngster in goal on Tuesday.

Stuart Dallas (RB)

The right-back should be aiming to perform better on both fronts if he is to really make that right-back slot his own.

Barry Douglas

Liam Cooper (CB)

The skipper should guide a young defence in a situation where the first-choice defenders are out injured.

Aapo Halmer (CB)

Another youngster in the back-line who would be aiming to learn the experience of playing in the Championship.

Barry Douglas (LB)

He is proving to be the signing of the season for the Peacocks. The ex-Wolves full-back is so strong, defensively and also while going forward. Should start every game.

Kalvin Phillips (CDM)

A special player in the defensive midfield for the team. His authority on the ball is impressive and he shields the back-line well.

Samuel Saiz

Samuel Saiz (LCM)

Time for the Spaniard to be in the line-up as Adam Forshaw isn’t really playing up to the standards expected.

Mateusz Klich (RCM)

The Pole needs to step up in the final third and create more chances for the team. He has been marshalled well by the defenders in the past few games.

Jack Harrison (LW)

Ezgjan Alioski continues to disappoint, hence, Bielsa should start Harrison on the left wing.

Pablo Hernandez

Pablo Hernandez (RW)

The class of Hernandez is key to Leeds in the final third of the pitch. Scored a goal in the previous game to uplift his confidence after an injury layoff.

Kemar Roofe (ST)

The hardworking striker is a vital player as he can be a threat in the box and work hard, with and without the ball.
