Predicted Leeds United line-up to face QPR in the Championship

Leeds United would be aiming to keep their winning momentum going when they face Queens Park Rangers at Elland Road this Saturday in the Championship. The Peacocks currently lie second in the table after grinding out a 1-0 win at Sheffield United last week. They are just a point behind leaders Norwich City in a tightly-contested fight for promotion places.

This weekend, Marcelo Bielsa’s men are up against a QPR team, who have won only one of their previous five games, drawing and losing two each. Hence, on paper, Leeds would do well to get the three points, however, no game is a given in English football.

Team News

Captain Liam Cooper is injured and is receiving further treatment. Tom Pearce still seems to be out with a toe problem. Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi are out as well.

Probable Leeds United XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Marcelo Bielsa

Bailey Peacock-Farrell (GK)

After making a penalty save against Reading, the goalkeeper’s confidence has risen and he looks more comfortable.

Stuart Dallas

Stuart Dallas (RB)

The backup right-back is doing a fine job in terms of defending his wing, however, more is expected at the other end of the pitch.

Aapo Halme (CB)

With captain Cooper out, expect the young Halme in action for the Peacocks.

Pontus Jansson (CB)

He would have the responsibility of playing alongside a young central defender. Guiding him in tough situations would be key.

Barry Douglas (LB)

Leeds’ signing of the summer continues to shine at left-back. He should start every game.

Kalvin Phillips

Kalvin Phillips (CDM)

His performances in defensive midfield are effective to the team and there is no way he would sit out for Leeds.

Samuel Saiz (LCM)

It should be time for Saiz to start games as Adam Forshaw hasn’t been able to shine in the opportunities he received from the manager.

Mateusz Klich (RCM)

He has had a decent season in the midfield, keeping his place for all the league games. An important player in Bielsa’s system.

Pablo Hernandez (RW)

The Spaniard’s quality on the right wing is always a threat to the opposition defenders. At his best, he is unstoppable.

Kemar Roofe

Kemar Roofe (ST)

He keeps doing the hard work for the team even though the chances are arriving at a premium. That is why he is a perfect number nine for the manager.

Jack Clarke (LW)

Ezgjan Alioski has got enough opportunities and the Macedonian has been nothing short of a disaster. It is time for the young Jack Clarke to get a chance.
