Aston Villa vs Millwall Predictions – Aston Villa line-up

Aston Villa would be aiming to keep their sensational winning form going when they face Millwall at Villa Park this Monday. Dean Smith’s men have won their previous nine games on the spin and are on top of their game.

The Villans are currently fifth in the table, six points clear of seventh-placed Bristol City. Hence, they are on course to be in the playoff spots at the end of this season.

On Monday, they will face a Millwall side who are currently fighting to stay in the league and haven’t lost in their previous four games. Hence, it won’t be easy for either side.

Team News

Tammy Abraham is out for this game with a shoulder injury. Jonathan Kodjia is back fit and could lead the line on Monday. Axel Tuanzebe rolled his ankle on Friday but that isn’t considered to be serious.

Tommy Elphick and James Chester are back in training but it will take time before they make a comeback into the squad. Lovre Kalinic is being checked on a day-to-day basis.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Dean Smith

Jed Steer (GK)

Steer is their first-choice keeper in the absence of Kalinic. Expect the former to be in goal on Monday.

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

The Egyptian’s form at right-back has been decent of late. He deserves to keep his place in the team.

Tyrone Mings (CB)

He was back from suspension in the last game and played well. Expect him to start on Monday.

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

He rolled his ankle while playing against Bolton on Friday. But that isn’t serious enough to keep him out of action.

Neil Taylor (LB)

He put in another solid display on Friday and continues to impress. The Welshman should start on Monday.

Mile Jedinak (CDM)

Veteran Glenn Whelan played full 90 minutes on Friday. Expecting him to start on Monday might be too much. Hence, Jedinak can take his place in defensive midfield.

John McGinn (RCM)

He is probably the first name on the teamsheet for some time now. Same would be the case on Monday.

Jack Grealish (LCM)

Grealish impressed again on Friday. His form is going to be key for Villa in their run-in. He is certain to start against Millwall.

Albert Adomah (RW)

He always tries his best but the final delivery isn’t up to the mark. The winger needs to improve on that in the final three games.

Anwar El-Ghazi (LW)

The Dutchman has been in good form of late and deserves to keep his place in the team.

Jonathan Kodjia (ST)

He is back fit and may lead the line on Monday, chiefly because Abraham is unfit for this game.
