Leeds United vs Aston Villa predictions: Aston Villa line-up

Aston Villa are on an incredible streak, with the Villans winning 10 games on the trot. That is their longest streak in a long time and one that they need to keep intact if they are to have a chance of staying in the promotion playoff spots.

They face Leeds United next and the Whites are not in the best shape at the moment. Somehow, Marcelo Bielsa’s men have managed to lose three out of their last five games, and this has affected their title challenge. It has put their automatic promotion spot in jeopardy too.

This simply adds to the drama and with just two games left in the season, Villa have to end their campaign on a high. Beating Villa at home should do the trick.

Team News

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has already revealed that star striker Tammy Abraham will miss the game against Leeds. Smith further added that Axel Tuanzebe will be fit enough to start (Birmingham Mail).

Barring that, the Lions do have Thomas Carroll, Lovre Kalinic, and Kortney Hause out injured.

Probable Aston Villa XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Dean Smith

Jed Steer (GK)

With Kalinic still injured, Steer is Dean Smith’s first choice to play in goal and he did so against Millwall.

Ahmed Elmohamady (RB)

The Egyptian has been in good form as a right-back and thus deserves to keep his place.

Tyrone Mings (CB)

The on-loan Bournemouth man was back from suspension in the last game and did well against Millwall.

Axel Tuanzebe (CB)

He injured himself against Bolton and was rested against Millwall but should make a comeback against Leeds.

Neil Taylor (LB)

The Welshman has been a solid defender of late and Dean Smith will want him to do the same against Leeds United.

Mile Jedinak (CDM)

Jedinak started the game as a centre-back and despite doing well, he should play against Leeds as a midfielder.

John McGinn (RCM)

Probably the first name on the team-sheet, the 24-year-old has been one of the club’s standouts stars.

Jack Grealish (LCM)

His form is going to be key for Villa in their run-in and if there is one player who is certain to start, it’s the Englishman.

Albert Adomah (RW)

A hard worker for the team, the 31-year-old has to improve his ability in the final third and that could make all the difference against Leeds United.

Anwar El-Ghazi (LW)

The 23-year-old has done well for Aston Villa of late but like Adomah, he needs to improve in the final third.

Jonathan Kodjia (ST)

Fit again and back among the goals, the 29-year-old will have to step up in the absence of Tammy Abraham.

Tom Landry once said "Football is an incredible game. Sometimes it's so incredible, it's unbelievable." Football is and always will be the beautiful game. What every child understands, yet every adult struggles to, is that it is a game that defines the nature of the universe. But that's just me.
